What is a Professional Geriatric Care Manager?
Professional Geriatric Care Managers (PGCMs) are health and human services specialists who help families care for older relatives, while encouraging as much independence as possible. Members of NAPGCM offer a wealth of information and expertise on topics ranging from long-distance caregiving to nursing home placement and home care.
NAPGCM is a volunteer nonprofit association with over 2,000 members and is governed by a 20-member Board of Directors, who are elected to two-year terms and represent a diversity in practices and geographic location.

This growing population of older adults will create an unprecedented demand for aging related programs, policies and services. NASW has established an Aging Initiative to raise awareness about the breadth of geriatric social work practice, and increase the numbers of professionally trained and credentialed social workers who serve older adults and their families.
